Re: AZ, CA, HI, NV, OR, WA
The Department of Agriculture dictates that plants shipped to Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington have their roots washed clean of all soil before shipment.
Complying with this requirement is difficult for two reasons: the effort required to manually wash the roots and the challenge to ship soil-less roots without them drying out during shipment.
We experimented with several strategies and concluded that it is impossible to comply in a cost-effective manner.
Re: AK, HI
We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii because of the high cost of the expedited shipping that is required to deliver plants before their health deteriorates because of shipping.
Several times customers offered to pay the air freight cost and the plants still arrived in less than peak condition, we do not want to disappoint anyone else.
Re: other states
If any other states are listed as not-shippable for one of your plants, it is because some of our fulfillment centers cannot ship certain products to certain states. Other forms of that product probably ship from other fulfillment centers that do NOT have that restriction.
