Search Tips
Whether you're searching for a specific plant or just looking to discover something new, we can help. Simply enter a few words into the search box on any page, and we will show you all matching plants. We know how hard it is to guess the spelling of plant names, so we will even do our best to match up misspellings.Consider using our Plant Finder to help you quickly locate the plants you seek. It displays only plants that possess attributes you select. |
Try different search words
There are many words to describe plants. Try several different combinations, but for best results, use no more than three words at a time.
Avoid words that are too general
For example, since we only sell groundcovers, the word "groundcover" is not in every plant description. So, if you search "native fragrant groundcover" you will generate fewer matches than searching for "native fragrant". The same holds true for words like "plant".
Avoid the use of plurals
Our plant descriptions discuss individual plants. For example, you will get much better results searching for "vinca" rather than "vincas", and "ivy" rather than "ivies".
Be careful when using 'with', 'and', 'or', 'the', etc.
Our search engine searches for with, and, or, and the just like it would any other word. Use words only if you're searching for items containing these words, such as lily of the valley or sum and substance.
Don't use punctuation
Don't use punctuation in your search such as quotes, dashes, apostrophes, etc.
Consider browsing
If you're not searching for something specific, try browsing to discover new treasures.
